While the Sony PlayStation Phone hype continues to build and boil, the recurring leaked pictures of the upcoming phone keep coming. In this edition on the soon-to-be-announced PlayStation phone, we put the PlayStation Phone (Xperia Play) together with a few other devices for comparison purposes. Devices in the snap include the PSP-1000, the PSP Go, DSi, GBA SP, Sony Xperia handsets and more.
Only just recently, a Chinese language preview appeared where a Chinese website called IT168 seemed to have laid its hands on the specifications of the upcoming phone and also came up with four detailed videos. Hence, this PlayStation device got more airtime than it expected before the release date. Inside the PSP Go-esque device (see a side-by-side above!) is a Qualcomm Adreno 205 GPU, a “likely” 1GHz Snapdragon QSD8255 CPU, a 1,500 mAh battery, a 854×480 resolution 4″ display, a 5 megapixel camera, 512MB RAM, 512MB ROM, a microSD slot, SIM slot, micro-USB connectivity, and more. The phone is packing a “PlayStation Pocket” app, though it’s not clear what games it will support. Whether the upcoming phone would resemble the PlayStation One or if it will run PSP titles is still too early to talk about.
